Members of the Estevan Police Service checked more than 600 vehicles at check stops in the community on Canada Day.

While they didn’t make any arrests at the check stop sites, they did arrest and charge a 21-year-old Estevan man for impaired driving after a concerned citizen called in his driving actions. He was released with a future court date and his licence was immediately suspended.

The vehicle he was driving was also seized.

As for the check stops, police are thankful for the patience of the public with the slight delay they experienced while passing through the check stops.

Police received a noise complaint from the northeast side of the City on Thursday. The homeowner was warned of the bylaw.

Members arrested and charged a male last night after he was located outside with open alcohol.  He faces a charge under the Criminal Code for breaching his released conditions but also under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act for consuming open alcohol in a public place.
