The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a the theft of a truck from an auto dealers lot on March 21. Stolen was a white 2011 Dodge 3500. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Weyburn Police, or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Weyburn police received a report on Wednesday from a 34-year-old male that he had been threatened via social media. After investigation, a 30-year-old male was identified as being responsible. The matter was mediated.
City police received a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision at a school parking lot on Wednesday. Through the investigation, a 17-year-old male was identified as being responsible and was issued a traffic ticket for unsafe backing in a parking lot.
While conducting routine enforcement in a local pub on Friday, an officer became suspicious that a patron was under the legal age. When questioned, the youth provided a false name to the officer. Through subsequent investigation the true identity of the 16-year-old local youth was established. The youth is now facing a criminal charge of obstruction as well as a ticket for being underage and in the bar.
The Weyburn police were dispatched to a local retail establishment regarding a shoplifting complaint involving a 17-year-old male on Saturday. The business did not wish to pursue criminal charges, but under trespassing legislation, they banned the youth from being on company property.
City police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at a local bar at about 10 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival the disturbance was over. The two combatants were identified and will be charged under the city’s fighting bylaw.
Police were conducting a walk-through of a local bar on Saturday when a disturbance broke out between a 21-year-old male and a 28-year-old male at about 11 p.m. The police were able to quickly intervene which de-escalated the situation. Both patrons were removed from the bar without further incident.
Weyburn police were dispatched to a report of an assault at a local bar at about 11:45 p.m. on Saturday. The suspect had fled prior to police arrival but was located a short time later. The matter is still under investigation.
City police received a report of an erratic driver at about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday. The vehicle was eventually located and a 30-year-old female was arrested. She was charged with impaired driving, driving while over .08 and also possession of marijuana under 30 grams. She was released on $500 bail.
