Police investigate business break-ins

The Weyburn Police Service responded to a report of a break-and-enter to two businesses in the downtown core on Wednesday. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from each business. Forensic Identification Services were requested.

• The Weyburn police responded to a report of a business break-and-enter on May 30. It appears that although an attempt was made, entry was not gained.
• The Weyburn police received a report of a vehicle in the 500 block of Dieppe Drive being vandalized on Saturday. The matter is still under investigation.
• City police received a report of trespassers swimming in the pool on Sunday. One suspect was caught at the scene and the other two were identified through clothing left at the pool. Two 22-year-old males and a 21-year-old male were charged under the bylaw for being in the pool after hours.
• City police received a complaint of erratic driving action on the Comp School grounds around noon on May 30. After investigation and a related later occurrence, the matter was dealt with by the school.
• Police received a report of vandalism to a downtown business on May 30. The matter is under investigation.
• City police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a 28-year-old female and a 43-year-old male on May 30. The matter was mediated with no further action being required by the police.
• Weyburn police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on May 31. The police remained to keep the peace while a 50-year-old male moved from the residence.
• Police responded to a domestic disturbance between family members on May 31. After getting the facts, the matter was mediated without need for further action.
• City police received a report of a ‘Secret Shopper’ scam on Wednesday.
• Weyburn police received a report of an assault on Thursday. As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old female has been charged with two counts of committing an assault on two other 16-year-old females.
• Police received a report from a local hotel that a patron had checked out without paying on Sunday. The matter is still under investigation.
• City police responded to a report of an unwanted houseguest on Sunday. Found in the house was a 48-year-old woman who was highly intoxicated. After being checked out at the hospital she was lodged in cells until sober and then released.
