City police received a report that on Saturday at about 10 p.m. while parked at the 7-Eleven on King Street, $330 was taken from the unlocked vehicle. The matter is still under investigation.

• Police received a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision occurring in a parking lot in the downtown area at about noon on Sunday. A witness was able to provide information about the incident. As the result of the investigation, a 74-year-old male driver was located and has been charged with failing to report property damage to the owner.
• Weyburn police are investigating a report of the theft of clothing items from a downtown business on Jan. 23.
• City police received a report of a suspected scam involving a telephone call from Royal Natural Diamonds Investment on Jan. 24. There was no loss in this matter. Likewise through the week a number of reports were received about scam calls from the CRA.
The police wish to remind everyone that as intimidating as a call from the CRA can be, they do not blindly call up requesting payment of back taxes without first having sent out official correspondence.
Police urge residents to be wary of any such call, and if you have any doubt about the validity of the call, hang up and return the call to a CRA number you have obtained from the telephone book or the official CRA website.
• City police are investigating a report of a hit-and-run collision that happened in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of Government Road North on Thursday. The suspect vehicle is believed to be light blue in colour. The incident happened between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
• City police came across a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 39 and Third Street at about 8:50 a.m. on Friday. The investigation determined that a vehicle travelling southeast on Highway 39 driven by a 74-year-old man failed to stop at a red light, colliding with a vehicle being driven by a 78-year-old man travelling south on Third Street. The offending driver was issued a ticket for failing to stop at a red light.
• Police were dispatched to an apartment complex regarding a dispute between neighbours and an allegation of assault at about 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
The investigation revealed that there was an misunderstanding between a 72-year-old woman and a 75-year-old woman regarding money owed to the other. This resulted in a minor shoving match between the two. The matter was mediated. Alcohol was a contributing factor.
• Weyburn police received a request to assist in keeping the peace while a 38-year-old female retrieved her personal belongings from a residence on Friday. The assistance was provided without incident.
• Police were dispatched to a report of an altercation at a residence in the 300 block of Mergens Street at about 10:20 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival it was determined that this was a long-standing family dispute between an estranged couple. The 64-year-old male had already left the location when police arrived. There was no further need for police intervention. Alcohol was a factor.
• City police were approached by a witness to a hit-and-run vehicle collision having just occurred in the City Centre Mall parking lot on Saturday. The suspect is believed to be an 87-year-old female driver. The matter is still under investigation.
• Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ninth Street to a report of a domestic dispute with a physical altercation at about 4:35 a.m. on Saturday. Just as police arrived, a 31-year-old man fled the scene on foot and was pursued by police, eventually being arrested without incident. He was held in custody for being intoxicated and released later in the morning. After speaking to the other people involved, it was determined that no charges would be laid. Alcohol was a contributing factor.
• While on patrol, the Weyburn police observed suspicious activity in a vehicle parked on Fifth Avenue North at about 12:50 a.m. on Monday. Upon investigating further two 16-year-old youth were arrested for possession of marijuana. Due to the very small amount of marijuana left in the vehicle, no charges were laid but the youth received an official caution.
