Weyburn Police Services are reminding the public to not leave any valuable property in their vehicles, to lock their cars and not to leave their keys in the vehicle following recent vehicle entries and thefts in the South Hill area.
Three separate incidents were reported to police of residents of South Hill having their vehicles rummaged through and items stolen on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27.
On Sunday, October 27 police received a complaint of a parked vehicle in the South Hill area that had been entered. A wallet and contents were stolen from the unlocked vehicle. The matter remains under investigation. The same day, a 65-year-old male had his vehicle stolen from his residence on South Hill. The vehicle was believed to have been left unlocked with the key in the ignition. Soon after, it was located undamaged a few blocks away from where it was stolen, nothing was reported missing from the vehicle. The matter remains under investigation.
On Saturday, October 26, police received a report from a 37 year-old-male that his unlocked work vehicle was rummaged through and his personal vehicle was stolen from his South Hill residence. The victim's personal vehicle keys were believed to have been left in his work vehicle. The suspects then stole the victim's personal truck. On-Star located the truck behind Access Communications.
Investigation revealed that this vehicle was driven north on 3rd street at a high rate of speed then on the lot of Access Communications hitting a large wooden wire reel, breaking the spool and coming to rest at the rear edge of the parking lot.
The incident is believed to be related to the other following complaints which still remain under investigation.

Also on Sunday, October 27, an office window was broken at the Souris School. Entry is not believed to have been gained to the school. The matter is under investigation.
On Friday, October 25 police responded to a report of a vehicle/pedestrian collision on 1st Avenue N and Windsor Street. The investigation revealed that a 15 year-old-male pedestrian was struck by a 16-year-old male driver after he attempted to run across 1st Avenue from behind a parked vehicle. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries.
Investigation revealed the pedestrian had run out in front of a vehicle not allowing time for the driver to react. No charges were laid.
On the same date, a 15-year-old female cyclist was headed westbound on 1st Avenue approaching King Street with intentions on turning north and she accidentally veered to the left and collided with a moving truck driven by a 38 year old female. The cyclist sustained minor injuries to her hand and was spoken to about safe cycling habits. No charges were laid.
Also on this day, Police investigation revealed that a 12-year-old male pointed a pellet gun at a 16-year-old male who, in turn, shot an air soft gun at the 12-year-old which hit him. He then broke the gun.
The incident was believed to have stemmed from disagreement about trading the guns. As a result, the 16-year-old was charged with assault causing bodily harm and mischief under for damages to the air soft gun.
The Young Offender was released for Court later in November, 2013.
On Sunday, October 20, police stopped a vehicle and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted resulting in a 24-hour driving suspension being issued to the 24-year-old male driver.
Weyburn Police Service received a call on Sunday, October 20, regarding an ongoing domestic dispute between a 32-year-old male and a 27-year-old female. Members attended the residence to keep the peace while some personal property was removed. No further police action was required.
Police responded to a call from a local pub on October 19, regarding people in the parking lot causing a disturbance and breaking bottles. Upon police arrival the group had dispersed but a 23-year-old male was found to be heavily intoxicated and unresponsive. He was transported to Weyburn Hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, October 17, police dispatched officers to a local pub in response to a complaint of someone having just been beaten up. Upon arrival it was found that an unknown male suspect had left the scene. The 24-year-old male victim was uninjured. He was unable to provide any further information as to the identity of the suspect.
On the same day, police responded to a report of a vehicle/pedestrian collision with injury to the pedestrian. The investigation revealed that the 51-year-old male pedestrian victim had just parked his vehicle and was walking across the street when another parked vehicle left the parking space failing to notice the pedestrian. The victim received minor injuries and was treated and released from the local hospital. The 29-year-old male driver of the other vehicle was charged with driving without due care and attention.
Police received a complaint of a vehicle being driven erratically on the fairgrounds property on Thursday, October 17. Members were able to locate the vehicle and charged the 25-year-old male driver with stunting.
Police responded to a two vehicle collision at Prairie Avenue and 6th Street on Tuesday, October 15. No one was injured but a vehicle had to be towed. A 41-year-old female was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
