Police investigates truck theft

June 17th – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a theft of a truck. The complainant advised that they had left their truck parked on a street in the East of Weyburn, and when they returned the vehicle was gone.

June 17th – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a theft of a truck. The complainant advised that they had left their truck parked on a street in the East of Weyburn, and when they returned the vehicle was gone. Police later located the truck. The incident remains under investigation.

June 17h- The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a shoplifting from a local business. While attending to the business police located an individual who matched the description of the suspect. The 43 year old male was arrested and charged with theft under $5000. He was also charged for an earlier theft from the same business. The male was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
June 17th – While on Patrol, a member of the Weyburn Police observed a grey truck being driven at a high rate of speed. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the truck accelerated. Police pursued the vehicle which went north out of the City limits. The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons a short time later. The incident remains under investigation.

June 11th – While on Patrol a member of the Weyburn Police Service was flagged and advised of a man sleeping in bushes. Police located a 25 year old male who was found to be extremely intoxicated. The individual was arrested for drunk in public and lodged in cells. He was later released when sober, no charges were laid.
June 11th – While on patrol a member of the Weyburn Police Service observed a male asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that was running and stopped at gas pumps at a local business. When checking on the condition of the driver, it was determined that the driver had been drinking. The 30 year old male driver was arrested and subsequently charged with impaired care and control and over .08. He was later released from custody for court at a later date.
June 11th – The Weyburn Police Service was called to a residence in the North of Weyburn with a report of arson. The complainant advised their parked vehicle had been entered and a fire had been started damaging the interior. No suspects at this time, the incident remains under investigation.
June 12th – The Weyburn Police Service were dispatched in the early morning hours to a fight in progress at a local business. Police attended and separated those involved. The subsequent investigation resulted in a 36 year old male being charged with common assault on a 38year old male, as well as a mischief charge. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and will appear in court at a later date.
June 12h – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a vehicle vs bicycle accident at the intersection of 1st Avenue NE and 16th Street. The bicyclist was taken to hospital as a precaution and later released. The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
June 12h – The Weyburn Police Service, along with the Weyburn Fire Department attended to a vehicle vs. Train collision at the rail crossing on Queen Street and Highway 39. The driver of the vehicle had stopped at the stop sign and then preceded Southbound onto the approach, but was unable to completely clear the track due to another vehicle waiting to get onto Highway 39. The train hit the rear of the vehicle, causing extensive damage but no injuries. The investigation is continuing in conjunction with CP police.
June 13th – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a mischief. The victim advised police their vehicle had been parked on the Street, when they heard a loud ban and looked outside and saw a group of teens leaving the area. The vehicle sustained minor damage. The incident remains under investigation.
June 14th – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle but no one inside. A short time later a 34 year old male was observed in the area of the vehicle. He was found to be extremely intoxicated, and for his safety and the safety of others he was arrested for drunk in public and lodged until sober. He was released with no charges.
June 14th – The Weyburn Police Service received a call of a fight in progress in a local residence. Police arrived and were able to separate those involved. An 18 year old male was arrested at the scene and lodged in cells until sober. He was later released with no charges at this time, the incident remains under investigation.
June 15th – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a theft, after a patient at the hospital reported that their hearing aids were taken. No suspects, the incident remains under investigation.
June 15th – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of arson as a result of a parked vehicle being entered and a small fire started in the passenger compartment. There was minor damage to the vehicle. No suspects at this time and the incident remain under investigation.
June 15th – The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a theft from an auto, after the complainant’s vehicle had been entered and items and a wallet were stolen. There are no suspects and the incident remains under investigation.
June 16th – A member of the Weyburn Police Service, while on patrol, observed a vehicle being driven in a manner that was indicative of an impaired driver. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 49 year old male showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and subsequently charged with impaired drive and over .08. He was later released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
