Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) have made an arrest in connection with recent graffiti incidents.
Police executed a search warrant Tuesday, and a 35-year-old Estevan man was arrested. Officers were able to seize several exhibits relating to ongoing spray paint incidents that have been happening in the city and surrounding rural area.
At this time, the man is facing nine charges of mischief under $5,000 and one charge of breaching conditions of a probation order.
These charges stem from mischiefs that have occurred over the last four days. Police are still investigating all the incidents since late September as it is believed the majority of them are connected. Further charges are being considered.
Police want to thank the public for their assistance in providing information, which assisted in leading to the arrest.
The male was released later in the night with conditions. He will appear in Estevan Provincial Court on March 8.
Members also attended to a complaint Tuesday of a theft from a residence by a young person. The 16-year-old Estevan male was located a short distance away and arrested. The male is facing charges of theft under $5,000, failing to comply with a youth sentence order and failing to comply with his release order. A short time later, a report involving the same youth was made to EPS, and further charges of uttering threats, mischief to property and failing to comply with a youth sentence order were laid. The male was lodged in cells and will be held for court.
Officers attended to multiple collisions during the afternoon. One vehicle was towed from a collision at Fourth Street and Kensington Avenue, and charges are pending. There were no injuries.
Members then responded to a collision at Albert Street and Alexandria Avenue. Both vehicles were drivable and there were no injuries. Charges are pending in this matter as well.
Officers are investigating a complaint of a fraud under $5,000 that was filed Monday. The EPS reminds the public to not provide any personal or financial information to those you do not know and to be aware of fraudulent websites.
