The Estevan Police Service apprehended a couple of motorists for driving well above the speed limit this past week.
In a tweet sent out on Saturday morning, the EPS said they had issued hefty fines for speeding.
Both tickets were issued on Highway 39 in east Estevan, where the speed limit is 80 kilometres per hour (km/hr).
One of the tickets was issued Thursday afternoon and the second was issued early Friday evening. One of the drivers was fined $1,067 for travelling 154 km/hr, or 74 km/hr above the speed limit.
The other was traveling 143km/hr, or 63 km/hr over the limit.
In the tweet, the EPS asked people to please drive safe and save healthcare workers from more work because of unnecessary accident-related injuries.
