In order for police to take enforcement action either the dog has to be actively barking when police go to the location, or the witness needs to be prepared to provide a formal statement and go to court if necessary.
We urge people to make certain that the dog they are accusing of barking is actually the one that is barking. Recent complaints and investigations around the city have shown that due to how sound travels the actual violating dog was at times many houses away from where the complainant thought the dog was barking.
