On October 19, Police responded to a local restaurant after receiving a 911 call. Staff refused to serve an intoxicated male. He was refunded his money for a meal he had ordered and was asked to leave the restaurant.
Also on October 19, Weyburn PS assisted the RCMP with a traffic stop on New City Garden Road. The vehicle had been travelling West on Highway 39 and a complaint was received that the man and woman inside were having a physical altercation. The incident was turned over to the RCMP.
Further on October 19, Police responded to an accident at the intersection of Fourth Street and Bison Avenue. A west bound vehicle on Bison Avenue, driven by a 67 year-old male, failed to yield to a south bound on Fourth Street and they collided in the intersection. The driver of the south bound vehicle (a 63 year-old male) was treated by Weyburn EMS and he was driven to the hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
On October 18, Police responded to a local motel after an intoxicated, belligerent 52 year-old male requested a cab ride to Trossachs but he had no money. An officer assisted the male in using the ATM to pay for his current Taxi fare, as well as two previous ones for which he hadn't paid.
On October 17, Police responded to a fight at a local bar. Two males had a fight; one was gone upon police arrival. No charges were laid in the incident.
Also, on October 17, the victim of an assault, a 52 year-old female attended Weyburn PS and provided a witness statement. She had been living with a 42 year-old male. He had assaulted her numerous times in an early morning domestic situation by punching, kicking and throwing her around. The male will be charged with assault and placed on no contact conditions with the female and her children.
Further on October 17, Police received a complaint from a 39 year-old female that had been in an accident. The man left the scene after providing his name and license plate number. She believed that he may have been impaired. Officers located the 51 year-old male suspect and arrested him on an outstanding warrant. It was determined that he had registered his vehicle following the accident. He was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and driving without a valid driver's license.
On October 17, a Semi Tractor Unit hauling a trailer load of trusses was travelling West on Highway 39. The driver turned right onto Queen Street and was heading north. He stopped at the train track but was too close to the tracks, his truck was struck by a West bound train. The driver was aware of the train; however, he misjudged his proximity to the railway tracks. There were no injuries in the accident and the driver was charged with driving without due care and attention.
On October 16, an officer responded to a residence after an unwanted guest refused to leave. A 28 year-old male was arrested for being drunk in public and was lodged in cells until he sobered up. No charges were laid.
On October 15, Police received a complaint of a theft of a cell phone from a local motel. Officers responded to the motel and spoke to the 36 year-old female victim. Two female suspects were arrested and transported to Weyburn PS. An 18 year-old female was charged for theft under $5000 and the other was released with no charges.
Also on October 15, Police responded to a noise complaint in the Weyburn Trailer Court. A 34 year-old male was warned about the noise.
On October 14, Police, Fire and EMS personnel responded to a fire at Bison Manor. A resident accidentally started a small cooking fire, and it was extinguished. The resident had fallen and suffered from smoke inhalation.
Also on October 14, Police received a complaint about two vehicles driving erratically and shouting with a megaphone. An officer warned two 17 year-old youths about their driving actions.
Further on October 14, Police received a complaint about a gas drive-off from a local gas station. The vehicle was located and a 45 year-old female returned to the station to pay for the gas.
Also on October 14, a 65 year-old female's vehicle was damaged when a bail of wire fell out of a truck and hit her vehicle. The driver of the truck, a 23 year-old male told her that he would cover her damage and they exchanged information. She felt that she should report the incident. An officer located the offending vehicle and found that the vehicle was unregistered. The male was charged for having an insecure load and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Also on October 14, an officer did a traffic stop on Highway 39. The driver had the smell of beverage alcohol on his breath and was read an Alcotest Demand. He blew under .08 and was issued a three day driving suspension.
On October 14, a vehicle was broken into at a local school. Someone had gone through the contents of a student's wallet. Nothing else was disturbed in the vehicle and Police are investigating.
On October 13, Police responded to an accident at the intersection of Eighteenth Street and Fifth Ave NE. As an officer approached, the vehicle started to drive away and was stopped by the officer. A 40 year-old female was driving and she was arrested after failing a roadside screening test. She was charged with Impaired Driving, Driving While Over .08 and given a ticket for driving without a license. An investigation into the accident determined that a 38 year-old male had been driving when the accident occurred. He was also arrested and subsequently charged with Impaired Driving and Driving While Over .08.
Also on October 13, Police responded to a noise complaint on Coteau Ave. A 27 year-old male was warned to turn his music down.
