As is the yearly tradition, the Weyburn Horticultural Society hosted the Provincial Horticultural Show during Weyburn Centennial Celebrations on August 2. The results are as follows:
In Class l, Meta Murray was awarded for Best House Plant, Shirley Jacob for Best Collection of House Plants, Alisha Bell for Best Outdoor Plant and Derrel and Joyce Rodine for Best Container Garden.
In Class 2, Lorraine Herberholz won for Best Annual, Janet Woodward for Best Perennial and Janet VanWinkoop for Best Lily.
In Class 3, June Cull won for Best Rose; Grace Plonka for Best Miniature Rose, Shirley Jacob for Best Vase of Mini Roses as well as for Best Basket of Roses.
In Class 4, Tory Metheral won for Best sweet peas as well as for Best sweet pea display.
In Class 5, Janet VanWinkoop won for Best Dahlia. Best vase of dahlias was awarded to Phyllis Hansen.
In Class 6, Lorraine Herberholz won for Best Gladiola Spike and Best vase of Glads went to Darlene Thackery.
In Class 7, Tory Metheral won for Best Floral Art.
In Class 8, Tory Metheral won the Best People's Choice Award, Grace Plonka took Best Flower Arrangement and Best Vase Arrangement won for Shirley Jacob.
In Class 9, Phyllis Hansen won for Best Potato, Janet VanWinkoop for Best Tomato, June Cull for Best Collection of Herbs and Derrel and Joyce Rodine had Best Vegetable Collection.
In Class 10, Janet VanWinkoop swept up for Best Plate of Fruit, Best Plate of Apples and Best Collection of Fruit.
In Class 20 (Junior), Best Flower Exhibit was awarded to Laura Woodward and Best Arrangement to Neveah Bell.
In Class 21, Best Vegetable was awarded to Dawson Ciocia.
In Class 23, Best Arrangement went to Neveah Bell. Jacey Watson was presented with the Youth Gardener Trophy for Best Novelty.
Grand Aggregate Certificates for the most points in vegetables and flowers and the Grand Championship for the most total points, will presented to the winners at the SHA Convention in Regina in September.
