Regens Disposal will be hosting a free barbecue on Friday, Sept. 1 at the new recycling location of 40 - 18th Street, Weyburn.
Although curbside recycling is new to Weyburn, Regens Disposal and recycling programs are not. Regens has operated a recycling program through a depot located on a city lot on 16th Street and is now the supplier of the new City of Weyburn blue bins. For the past 10 years, the large green bins have resided there, but with new development about to take place on the city lot, the bins have been relocated and are now located at the Regens Disposal’s lot on 18th Street. This is the same lot that the new recycle depot building will be developed.
The barbecue will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will offer hamburgers, hot dogs and canned pop at no charge. Although the barbecue is free, a donation of a non-perishable food item would be greatly appreciated. All items collected will be donated to the Salvation Army food bank.
There will be support staff from Regens on hand to answer any questions that residents may have regarding your recycling process or discuss any waste disposal issues. Regens has serviced Weyburn with waste and recycling needs for the past 25 years.
