Regina police declare death investigation a homicide

A 27-year-old Regina man succumbed to fatal injuries earlier this week, after police were called to a scene on Davidson Crescent.

REGINA — A death investigation began by the Regina Police Service earlier in the week has been declared the third homicide of 2022 in the city. 

Police began investigating a report of an injured male on the afternoon of March 15, who was said to be lying unresponsive outside on the 100 block of Davidson Crescent.

EMS and police attended the call, locating one adult male with a critical injury who was transported to hospital. He later succumbed to his injury. 

Officers then began an investigation, in conjunction with the provincial coroner. 

The victim was identified as Victor Whitebear, 27, of Regina. Police said his next of kin have been notified of his death.

Investigation is currently ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the RPS at 1-306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
