Members of the Estevan Fire Rescue responded to a fire in a residence on the 1400 Block of Second Street on Wednesday afternoon. Members were advised that it was a small electrical fire.
The fire was identified as burning in the attic of the home after an assessment. Members were able to contain the fire to the area of origin, after fighting it for about half an hour. No one was harmed by the fire.
In order to contain the fire, members had to use an access hatch to the attic, directing suppressions streams into the the building from outside of it, on its roof. After the flames were put out, members stayed on the scene to extinguish hot spots and test for charring in the area of the fire’s origin.
