The Weyburn Review and Weyburn This Week are both finalists for Best Editorial Page in the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association Better Newspapers Competition.
The Weyburn Review is nominated in Class C with a circulation of 2,000 to 3,499. Weyburn This Week is nominated in Class D, with a circulation of 3,500 to 6,499.
The Weyburn Review is also nominated for Best Front Page in Class C, and has several nominations for the Premier and General Excellence Awards. Greg Nikkel and Sabrina Kraft are both nominated for Best Educational Coverage for Kindergarten to Grade 12. Nikkel is nominated for Best Photo Essay and Best Sports Photo.
The Better Newspapers Competition awards will be presented during the 2017 SWNA annual general meeting, which will be held in Saskatoon on Saturday, April 1.
