Percussionist Blake Atcheson provides an appropriate roll on the kettle drums, during a practice of the song "In the Shining" with the Comp School's concert band on Wednesday. The concert band was preparing to perform at the United Way fundraiser Communithon, as the first group to play after the opening ceremonies at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25; the 33-hour fundraiser telethon will go around the clock until it winds up at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Cafetorium.
