The Salvation Army is gearing up to kick off their Christmas Kettle Campaign on Thursday, November 28 at five retail locations in Weyburn.

The Salvation Army relies on the support of individual retailers, who allow Christmas kettles to be placed at their stores each year, as well as the assistance of kettle volunteers.

"Individuals, families as well as businesses can adopt a kettle," said Salvation Army Captain Melissa Mailman.

Regular kettle shifts are two hours and a sign will be placed at the kettle location thanking the volunteers who adopt a kettle on that day.

Christmas Kettles will be found at Canadian Tire, Wal Mart, The Real Canadian Wholesale Club, Weyburn Co-op Foods and Pharmacy and the liquor store.

To adopt a kettle or volunteer for a shift, please call Helen Orsted at 306-861-4599.

All money raised in the Christmas kettles stays in Weyburn to support programs for people in need.
