Sask. COVID-19 update: 181 new cases, 68 in hospital, 60 recoveries

There are 181 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Nov. 16, bringing the provincial total to date to 5,182 cases. Five new cases are located in the southeast.

There are 181 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Nov. 16, bringing the provincial total to date to 5,182 cases. 

Five new cases are located in the southeast. All five are in Southeast Zone 1, which is the northwest corner of this region and has had most of the cases as of late.

Seventy-six cases in the southeast are considered active. Fifty-seven of the active cases are in Zone 1. Eleven active cases are in Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

Three more people in the southeast region are listed as recovered. All three recoveries are from Zone 1.

There have been 128 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the southeast region since mid-March.

Across the province, there are 11 new cases in the far northwest, five in the far north central, 16 in the far northeast, 13 in the northwest, 18 in the north central, 11 in the northeast, 41 in the Saskatoon region, five in the central east, 32 in the Regina region, 17 in the southwest and two in the south central.

Five cases have pending residence information.

Four previous cases with pending residence information were assigned, with three in the north central and one in the northeast.

Of the 5,182 reported cases, 1,928, or about 37.2 per cent, are considered active. 

Sixty more people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,223, or about 62.2 per cent of those diagnosed.

Sixty-eight people are in hospital. Fifty-two people are receiving inpatient care; one in the far northwest, three in the northwest, six in north central, five in the northeast, 27 in Saskatoon, one in Regina, two in the southwest, one in south central and six in the southeast zones. Sixteen people are in intensive care: two in north central, seven in Saskatoon, two in central east and five in Regina.

Thirty-one deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported to date.

A total of 3,134 COVID-19 tests were processed in Saskatchewan on Sunday.
