Sask. COVID-19 update: 21 new cases, two in hospital, four more recoveries

There are 21 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Sept. 12, according to the Ministry of Health, bringing the total to 1,709 reported cases. Fourteen cases are in the central east region.

There are 21 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Sept. 12, according to the Ministry of Health, bringing the total to 1,709 reported cases. 

Fourteen cases are in the central east region. Five are in the Saskatoon area and two are in the southwest area.

Of the 1,709 reported cases, 83, or 4.9 per cent, are considered active. 

Four more people have recovered, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 1,602, or 93.7 per cent of those diagnosed.

Two people are in hospital receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon.

Investigations completed thus far have found that 15 of the 21 new cases reported today and 33 of the 83 current active cases are from communal living settings.

There have been 13 cases diagnosed in the southeast. Two are considered active. Neither of the active cases are in Estevan’s zone.

A total of 1,544 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan on Friday.
