There are 240 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Tuesday, bringing the provincial total to date to 5,422 cases.
Sixteen new cases are in the southeast region. Southeast Zone 1, which covers the northwest corner of the zone, remains the hotspot with 15 new cases. The other new case is in Zone 3, which is the southwest corner of the region.
There are no new cases in Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.
One person in Zone 4 has been moved to the recovered category, leaving 10 active cases in this zone.
There are 91 active cases in the southeast, with 72 of those cases in Zone 1. (Editor's note: the provincial COVID map shows there are 32 cases).
A total of 144 cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in the southeast since mid-March.
As for the rest of the province, there are five new cases in each of the far northwest and far north central, six in the far northeast, 16 in the northwest, 12 in the north central, two in the northeast, 97 in the Saskatoon region, 11 in the central west, three in the central east, 27 in the Regina region, four in the southwest and 23 in the south central.
Three cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the north central, and one is in the south central zone.
Of the 5,422 reported cases, 2,055, or 37.9 per cent, are considered active. There have been 113 recoveries, pushing the Saskatchewan total to 3,336, or 61.3 per cent.
Seventy-one people are in hospital. Fifty-six people are receiving inpatient care; one in the far northwest, three in the northwest, six in northcentral, two in the northeast, 30 in Saskatoon, three in Regina, four in the southwest, one in south central and six in the southeast.
Fifteen people are in intensive care: two in north central, seven in Saskatoon, two in central east and four in Regina.
Thirty-one deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported to date.
A total of 2,803 COVID-19 tests were processed in Saskatchewan on Monday.
