Pangman (cpd) - An 80-year-old Pangman resident received a call recently from a somebody claiming to be a grandson who asked for money as he was on his way to jail. The resident asked the caller a family question which he could not answer.
Pangman (cpd) - An 80-year-old Pangman resident received a call recently from a somebody claiming to be a grandson who asked for money as he was on his way to jail. The resident asked the caller a family question which he could not answer. He hung up. This wasn't the first call the resident received.
This scam has hit the Pangman area before and others aware of it. The resident affected recommend having a family trivia question ready which only a family member would know.
Pangman School will open their doors for the 2013-14 school year for the students on Tuesday, Sept. 3. There will be a pancake breakfast held at the school gym from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. This is open to the community, parents and students. Everyone is welcome.
The Pangman Ladies Auxiliary will hold their meetings again beginning on Monday, Sept. 9 in the Sunnyview Place at 9 a.m.. All women are welcome.
Harvesting has started in the Pangman area as crops were swathed.
Alma Fern Kessler, of Weyburn, and her brother, Richard Kessler, from Lloydminster, visited with their aunt Vi Kessler at the Sunnyview Place and Darlene Kessler on Aug. 17.
Debbie and Tom Kessler motored to Regina on Aug. 19 where they visited Lorraine Hawkins (nee: Pew) at the Regina General Hospital with Bonnie Probe.
A midnight swim was held at the Pangman swimming pool on Aug. 16 with many attending.
Debbie and Boyd Kessler and their daughter Erin Kessler from Ogema, attended Debbie's sister-in-law Terri Marion's funeral held in Regina on Aug. 21.
A memorial funeral service was held for Margaret George, formerly of Ogema, with Reverend Ella Frank officiating on Aug. 20 at the Sunnyview Place.
Six residents from the Sunnyview Place participated in their weekly 10-frame bean bag tournament on Aug. 20. Gerry Taylor placed first with a score of 68 points, Effie Devine placed second with a score of 62 points and Ada Murray placed third with a score of 53 points.
Jackie Lanz, a former Yellow Grass resident, is the newest resident at the Sunnyview Place.
