The South East Cornerstone Public School Division was awarded the Premier's Board of Education Award for Innovation and Excellence for 2012, as well as the Award of Distinction, during the Annual General Meeting of the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA).
The Premier's Board of Education Award for Innovation and Excellence recognizes educational innovations and improvements focused on student achievement that have been advanced or directed by boards of education. The Award of Distinction, which was presented to Trustee Bryan Wilson, recognizes a school board member who has demonstrated outstanding service and made a significant contribution to enhance education locally and provincially.
The Awards were officially presented on November 13 at the annual banquet.
Board Trustee Janet Foord was elected as President of the SSBA. Representing the City of Estevan, Janet is entering her 25th year in school board governance. She has served on the SSBA Executive for five years and is the Saskatchewan delegate on the Canadian School Boards Association Board of Directors.
