Phase Two of the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan is set to take effect right after the long weekend, on Tuesday, May 19, which will include retail businesses, shopping malls and select personal services.

Retailers which were not previously allowed to be open will include clothing stores; shoe stores; flower shops; sporting good and adventure stores; vaping supply shops; boats, ATV and snowmobile dealers; gift, book and stationery stores; jewelry and accessory stores; toy stores; music, electronic and entertainment stores; pawn shops; travel agencies; marinas, and u-pick produce.

Shopping malls and their retail tenants can resume business, with mall operators to implement measures to ensure appropriate physical distancing in the common spaces of the mall.

Lineups must be managed with a minimum of two metres (six feet) between people.

Washrooms can be open to staff and the public, but increased cleaning and disinfection must take place.

Food court facilities are restricted to pickup and delivery service only, and seating areas must remain closed.

Elevators must allow people to maintain the two-metre distancing, and escalators must be managed to also allow for the proper distancing.

Select personal services will be permitted to reopen on May 19, including hairstylists and barber shops, registered massage therapists, acupuncturists and acupressurists.

For hairstylists and barbers, they are permitted to wash, cut, style and chemically alter hair.

All businesses and customers are expected to maintain physical distancing practices. Where it is not possible, service providers will be require to take precautionary measures, such as client screening, wearing gloves and face masks.

Retailers and personal service providers will need to follow guidelines regarding frequent hand-washing, intensive cleaning of common high-touch areas, and structuring stores to enable physical distancing. Operators may need to limit the number of customers in the store.

Garage sales are not permitted at this time, and will be reassessed for later phases of the Re-Open plan.

Other than in allowable businesses, the size of public and private gatherings remains limited to a maximum of 10 people.

Other reopening dates include golf courses and outdoor individual recreation on May 15, and parks and campgrounds may reopen as of Monday, June 1.

Overnight stays prior to June 1 are permitted for individuals with seasonal long-term sites with self-supporting infrastructure in private campgrounds or regional parks.
