With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner, the Kids Cooking class got a head start on celebrating by making shamrock shaped pretzel pops on Tuesday evening.
The Weyburn Public Library hosted and provided the materials for the delicious treats.
First the instructors melted white chocolate and dyed it green with food colouring. The children then dipped four individual twisted pretzels into the chocolate and placed them on a stick in the shape of a four leaf clover. Some of the children even decorated their shamrocks with gold sprinkles.
Once the chocolate dried, the pretzels stuck to the stick and were able to be eaten just like a cake pop.
The library is hosting another St. Patrick's day event on Tuesday, March.17. Children ages 6-12 can come participate in a St.Patrick's Day-themed Minute to Win it game. From 3:45 to 5 p.m., the group will be compete in challenges such as the Rainbow Relay, the Lucky Charm challenge and the Shamrock Shuffle.
Those interested must call the library in advance to register.
