Red Wings right-winger Braden Mellon comes around from behind the Estevan net only seconds before he scored the first goal of 2017 for the Red Wings, only 23 seconds into the Tom Huston Classic on New Year’s Day at Crescent Point Place. The Red Wings went on to win their first game of the new year by the score of 4-1 in front of 949 fans. Earlier, on Dec. 30, the Red Wings lost to the Bruins 4-2 in the game held in Estevan.
