Members of the St. Joseph’s Health Care Auxiliary met on May 16 with the first item on the agenda being a summary of the recent tea, bake sale and raffle.
The winners of the cash draws were Terry Bokonkoski, Larry Mack and Violet Brown. The auxiliary sent their thanks to all who purchased tickets for these draws.
The auxiliary is one of the agencies that are supported by the United Way Estevan and it was noted that two of the United Way volunteer members came to help at the tea and the friendly assistance provided by Lynn Trobert and Christa Morhart was greatly appreciated.
The auxiliary presented a $15,000 cheque to the hospital as part of their pledge of $100,000 for the purchase of a new operating room table, a baby warming unit and an operating room cart for dental surgeries.
Members who attended the district meeting in Wolseley reported they had an informative and interesting time there. One of the speakers discussed diabetes and another presenter was a cancer survivor, both diseases are too prevalent in our world today, they stated.
Two new members were welcomed into the auxiliary family at the May meeting, namely Marie Starkey and Lynn Senchuk.
The next meeting of the St. Joseph’s Health Care Auxiliary will be June 20 at 6 p.m. and it will include a potluck supper.
