St. Michael School presents academic awards

St.Michael School presented their academic and activity awards to students in Grades 7, 8 and 9 on Wednesday evening in the school gym, ending with the presentation of scrolls to the Grade 9 class.

St.Michael School presented their academic and activity awards to students in Grades 7, 8 and 9 on Wednesday evening in the school gym, ending with the presentation of scrolls to the Grade 9 class.
The evening began with the Grade 7 and 8 academic awards. The Grade 7 general proficiency award went to Jamie Labbie, and the Grade 8 award to Keely O’Neill. The Grade 7 religious knowledge award went to Jamie Labbie, and the Grade 8 award to Brynn Romanovitch.
The Grade 7 Leadership Award went to Jane Fingler and Halle Robins, and for Grade 8 to Rylan Erb and Jenai Lokken.
The Grade 7 recipients of the Honour of Achievement Awards were Emersyn Jordens, Skyler Kreger, Erin Hoffart, Brooklyn Moser, Teagan Dubiel, Jamie Labbie, Kendra Madriaga, Gesmun Magno and Bea Primero.
The Grade 8 recipients of the Honour of Achievement Awards were Shan Alejaga, Avery Dewtie, Thea Gregory, Jenai Lokken, Parker Mantei, Brynn Romanovitch, Keegan Woodard, Jessica Benning, Grace LaBatte, Tori Mahnke, Darcy Klein, Keely O’Neill, J’nai Sidloski, Sydney Spencer and Jackson Tuchscherer.
For the Grade 7 and 8 band awards, the most promising woodwind was Teagan Dubiel, the most promising rhythm was Bea Primero, and the most promising brass was Kamryn Neiszner.
The coaches’ awards were presented to the athletes that have shown the most dedication, team spirit and improvement in their respective sports. For the “A” basketball teams, the recipients were Brynn Romanovitch and Marcus Gregory; for the “B” teams, Brooklyn Moser and Daniel Wheeler; for the “A” volleyball teams, Tori Mahnke and Michael Kaip; for the “B” teams, Andrea Sarmiento.
For badminton, the recipients were Brayden Wegner and Jackson Tuchscherer, for curling, Hunter Labbie, for cross-country running, Tensei Iida, and for track and field, Stevn Mlynarski.
The Athletes of the Year awards were presented to Jamie Labbie and Jacob Butz.
The recipients of the boys sports camp scholarships were Parker Souther and Jacob Butz, and the girls sports camp scholarships went to Brynn Romanovitch and Grace LaBatte.
For the Grade 9 performing arts awards, the best brass award went to Hunter Labbie, the best woodwind award went to Kayla Olfert, and the best rhythm award went to Marcus Gregory. The best male actor was Isaac Loberg, the best female actor was Falynn Bell, and the best vocalist award went to Trisha Mariveles.
Tiger badges were presented to those students who have earned at least 120 points through extracurricular activities in Grades 6-9. The recipients were Onello Bahingawan, Falynn Bell, Kyla Button, Seth Diede, Megan Ebel, Hunter Labbie, Brooklyn Lang, Isaac Loberg, Trisha Mariveles, Kayla Olfert, Andrea Sarmiento, Dominic Soles and Morgan Sprecken.
The recipient of the Grade 9 general proficiency award was Hunter Labbie, and the religious knowledge award went to Jackson Shauf.
The Grade 9 Honour of Achievement Awards went to Onello Bahingawan, Taryn Burns, Seth Diede, Marcus Gregory, Hunter Labbie, Isaac Loberg, Trisha Mariveles, Stevn Mlynarski, Nolan Neufeld, Dominic Soles and Megan Ebel. The Award of Excellence, for achieving in all three junior high years, went to Onello Bahingawan, Taryn Burns, Seth Diede, Megan Ebel and Isaac Loberg.
The Grade 9 leadership award went to Taryn Burns and Trisha Mariveles, the yearbook award went to Ralph Ronquillo, and the SRC Leadership Award went to Morgan Sprecken, Megan Ebel and Kayla Olfert.
The Jerry Jordens Work Ethic Award went to Nolan Neufeld, the LaRocque-Tremblay Citizenship Award went to Megan Ebel, and the St. Michael School Award went to Onello Bahingawan.
The presentation of scrolls and the St. Michael Medallion was made to the Grade 9 class, which includes Onello Bahingawan, Falynn Bell, Trinity Blackbird, Taryn Burns, Kyla Button, Seth Diede, Hayden Dodd, Zayne Domes, Riley Donison, Megan Ebel, Charles Gamble, Marcus Gregory, Nathan Hallberg, Ashton Horne, Hunter Labbie, Brooklyn Lang, Isaac Loberg, Trisha Mariveles, Courtney Martin, Stevn Mlynarski, Nolan Neufeld, Kayla Olfert, Matthew Oliveros, Renz Presto, Dustin Rodenbush, Ralph Ronquillo, Andrea Sarmiento, Jackson Shauf, Dominic Soles, Mathew Soles, Morgan Sprecken and Parker Souther.
