Stoughton's Tecumseh Royal Canadian Legion #133 has kicked off a fundraising campaign in aid of the building's urgently-needed roof repairs.
With donated building materials worth $1,000 from the Stoughton Co-op and the expertise and labour of Ed Young, the Legion is currently selling raffle tickets for the chance to win an 8'X12' garden shed to start raising funds for the project.
“The building needs a major roof repair,” says Legion President Raymond Coderre.
“We all use the Legion building,” says Deric Reaney, general manager of the Stoughton Co-op. “So we're glad to help out and get the fundraising started. The Co-op donated about $1,000 worth of building materials and Ed Young donated his time, labour and expertise to help us get this project done.”
“It's our first big push,” adds Reaney. “And Stoughton Co-op is happy to be able to support local projects like this one. And with Ed Young donating his labour and building expertise, we're happy to be able to provide this raffle prize to the Legion.”
Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and available from any Stoughton Legion member. Draw date is July 16, 2016.
