Stoughton Daze, Canada Day events a success

Stoughton — July 1st celebrations at Stoughton’s Taylor Park had a good turnout in perfect weather. About 180 people enjoyed the barbecue that the Stoughton Lions members put on.

Stoughton — July 1st celebrations at Stoughton’s Taylor Park had a good turnout in perfect weather. 

About 180 people enjoyed the barbecue that the Stoughton Lions members put on. All proceeds from the barbecue were donated to the new roof fund for the Legion. 

Mayor Bill Knous celebrated his birthday on July 1st and this year the local Lions club marked 50 years in the community. 

To commemorate this they donated a new park bench with a plaque with their logo on it. 

The local Prairie Ramblers entertained with songs all appreciated by those in attendance.

Stoughton Daze was held on July 7, 8 and 9 with very hot weather. The event began on Friday with a golf tournament and live music at the Crossroads Inn. Saturday morning began with the Firemen’s pancake breakfast, followed by the Lions parade with 52 entries.
