During this time of physical distancing and isolation, Heritage Saskatchewan wants to keep the minds of Saskatchewan students curious and learning by participating in their first-ever Virtual Heritage Fair.
(Shown are photos of exhibits at the Heritage Fair held recently at Assiniboia Park School, when classes were still in session in February.)
Students are encouraged to create a project, and submit it to be showcased on the Heritage Saskatchewan website and for a chance to win prizes.
By asking students in Grades 4 to 8 to pick a topic related to Canadian Heritage, the organization hopes to raise awareness of Living Heritage as an integral part of life for all Saskatchewan citizens.
Living Heritage refers to those values, beliefs, and ways of living inherited from past generations that are still used to understand the present and make choices for the future.
As such, they are asking students to pick a topic about what Canadian heritage means to them: Family traditions, food, music, sports, etc.
