The boards of education of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division and the South East Cornerstone Public School Division have approved the 2020-21 school year calendar.
In keeping with legislative and regulatory amendments, calendars must ensure that a minimum of 950 hours of instructional time is provided to all students. These legislative and regulatory amendments were implemented to ensure that there is consistent minimum amount of instruction time.
There will be 184 instructional days in the 2020-21 school year.
The first day of school will be Tuesday, Sept. 1. Classes will begin before Labour Day this year because Labour Day falls on Sept. 7 – the latest it can happen.
The final day of classes before the Christmas break will be Dec. 18. Classes will resume on Jan. 4.
The annual winter break will be from Feb. 15-19, and spring break will run from April 5-9, following the Good Friday/Easter long weekend.
The final day of classes will be June 28, 2021.
