Carlyle town council got together March 3 to review a few matters.
The members reviewed the budget for 2021 and are considering doing some paving around the town, as well as making some small equipment purchases.
This year is a property re-evaluation year. The Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency assessment revaluations are based on a four-year cycle. The 2021 revaluation will update assessed values to reflect a new base date of Jan. 1, 2019.
The base date means that 2019 values reflect a property's value as of January 1, 2019. Residents can expect to receive their assessment notices in the coming weeks.
Council also discussed the proposed spray park and decided to designate Centennial Park as its new location. The park is centrally located in the community. They are hoping to begin construction this spring.
The council members also participated in a strategic planning session on March 4 and have put together their plan for the four-year term. During this session all recreation and cultural facilities were identified as a priority.
Also, the Carlyle and District Donors Choice campaign collected and paid out $11,951.10 to 40 different charities.
The next council meeting is scheduled for March 17.
