The organizer of the inaugural Spring Sprout Craft and Trade Show says people who attend the event on April 30 at the Wylie-Mitchell building can expect to see a variety of booths and activities.
April Dammann, who operates Bumper Crop Creations, said they have 34 vendors booked, which is the capacity for the event. While many of the vendors are connected to farming or the spring season, other products will also be available.
Children’s activities will include face painting and sparkle tattoos, and there will be a farm-themed photo booth.
She wanted to make sure the event was as family-friendly as possible.
Dammann has prior experience working with events that raised funds for non-profits, and she thought this would be a good show for Estevan to host.
She has a farming background, which is why she selected the agricultural theme.
“It’s gone quite well so far,” said Dammann. “I’m excited to see how it turns out. For some people and some vendors, this is their first time participating in a craft show or a trade show, so it’s an introduction for their business.
“For some, they’ve been going for years, so they wanted to help support the causes for youth.”
Proceeds will be donated to the Estevan Family Resource Centre, the Estevan Kidsport committee and the Metochos Ministries Lutheran Bible Camp.
“I personally have used the resources for the family centre with both of my sons,” said Dammann. “With Kidsport, I have nephews and a niece who have used their program. And for the camp, I have seen local needs for kids if they want to get out and have some summer fun. I wanted to help out some families.”
The community has helped her with getting her business started, and she wants to give back to the community for supporting her.
