Members of the Estevan Combined Traffic Services Section have remained busy, issuing tickets for speeding and other infractions in July.
They handed out 60 tickets for speeding during the week of July 3 to 9. Two motorists were ticketed for exceeding the speed limit by more than 35 kilometres per hour (km/h).
The other tickets handed out during that week included three for operating an unregistered vehicle, three for a driver failing to wear a seatbelt, two for driving without a valid licence, and one each for disobeying a stop sign and having tinted front windows.
They issued another 47 tickets for speeding from July 10 to 16. Three tickets were for exceeding the speed limit by more than 35 km/h, and one was for driving more than 60 km/h while passing an emergency vehicle with its lights activated.
Eight drivers were ticketed for failing to wear a seatbelt, and three were charged for driving without a valid registration.
Members also issued a ticket for driving without a valid driver’s licence, and for having excessive damage to a windshield.
Nine motorists received warnings, and one received an inspection notice.
The Estevan RCMP Combined Traffic Services Unit along with their Estevan Police Service counterparts issued 65 traffic tickets and several warnings from 2016.07.17 to 2016.07.23.
For the week of July 17 to 23, they issued 38 tickets to motorists who exceeded 60 kilometres per hour when passing a stopped emergency vehicle with its lights activated. Eighteen drivers were charged for exceeding the posted speed limit.
Seven drivers were charged for failing to wear a seat belt, and five were charged for disobeying a stop sign. Two tickets were issued for distracted driving, and two more were for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. One ticket was issued for failing to comply with licence restrictions, and one was for tinted front side windows.
Members also issued seven warnings and three inspection notices.
