Twelve more cases of COVID-19 to report on Aug. 6 for South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan

For the second straight day, South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, is reporting double-digit COVID cases.

REGINA - There are 12 new cases of COVID-19 to report in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to the COVID-19 dashboard supplied by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

There is also a case that has been assigned to Zone 4. That would typically be a case from another jurisdiction, either from inside or outside of the province, or a Saskatchewan case with pending residence.

There are now 32 active cases of the virus in Zone 4.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Health said most of the 13 cases reported for Aug. 5 were from the Estevan area and stemmed from a private gathering.

All new cases of COVID-19 in the South East for Aug. 6 were from Zone 4.

There are now 63 active cases in the South East. One person is in hospital receiving in-patient care. And one more person from the South East has recovered from the virus.

Across the province, there are 85 new cases to report, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 50,338. Fifty-seven people are in hospital. And 40 more people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 49,207.

One person with COVID-19 in the Far North West has died, bringing the total number of deaths for people with COVID in Saskatchewan to 582.

There were 1,931 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Aug. 6, including 70 tests from the South East.  

And another 3,707 doses of vaccine were administered, including 240 in the South East.
