There are 67 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Oct. 28, bringing the total to 2,908 cases.
Two new cases are in the southeast. One new case is in Southeast Zone 4, which includes the Estevan area. The other new case is in Zone 1, which covers the northwest corner of the region.
There are 28 active cases in the southeast region; 23 are in Zone 4.
Twenty-five new cases are in the Saskatoon region. Fifteen are in the Regina region, 11 are in the northeast, and seven each are in the northwest and north central regions.
Public health investigations are underway to determine the source of transmission for all new cases. Of the 2,908 reported cases, 666, or 22.9 per cent, are considered active.
Fifty-three more people have recovered, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 2,217 recoveries, or 76.2 per cent of those diagnosed.
Twenty people are in hospital. Fourteen people are receiving inpatient care; nine in the Saskatoon zone, four in the north and one in the Regina zone. Six people are in intensive care: four in Saskatoon, one in the north central zone and one in Regina.
In the past 7 1/2 months, there have been 491 cases from the south area (228 southwest, 211 south central, 52 southeast)
To date, 256,082 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. As of Oct. 26, when other provincial and national numbers were available, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 172,989 people tested per million population. The national rate was 258,118 people tested per million population.
A total of 2,410 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan on Tuesday.
