The Committee for the Helen Davidson Music Award announced that they have two worthy recipients.  Mikaila Mahnke (voice) and Maxim Hiske (piano) will each receive a scholarship of $2,000 to  put towards their continuing music education.  Each exhibits a passion for music and studies other instruments as well.

The presentations of the scholarships will take place on Thursday,  June 21 at the T.C. Douglas Centre, 7 p.m., with a recital and reception to follow. Please mark your calendars to attend an evening of seriously great music! No tickets required! Come to honour two talented musicians.

The Music Award is in memory of Helen Davidson, a distinguished piano  teacher for many years in Weyburn and area, a 50-year member of the Registered Music Teachers Association, and organist at Calvary Baptist  Church for over 60 years.  She passed away in March of 2011 at the age of 102.  She was a good friend to many and a dynamic member of this community.
