Weyburn rang those phones to just shy of $125,000 for the Weyburn and District United Way's 32nd Annual Communithon.
"The Communithon was fantastic. Everyone pulled together. We almost made $125,000 while on air and the donations will continue to come in," said Communithon co-chair Karen Kennedy-Allin.
Although short of their $140,000 goal, she said the United Way should be able to meet all the requests for money by its member agencies.
The United Way's one big fund raiser showcased local talent, a calibre of entertainment Kennedy-Allin called "phenomenal."
This Communithon revitalized the Children's Hour on the Saturday morning, something which Kennedy-Allin said they would continue into the 33rd Communithon next year.
"The children's hour went really well. The kids that were there had such a good time and their costumes were really great," she said.
The best part of the Communithon for Kennedy-Allin is the crowd of people in the audience.
"It was great to have so many people in the audience. I still believe the best way to see the Communithon is face to face," she added.
An event as big as Communithon couldn't be a success without the tireless efforts of many volunteers as well as Access Communications and United Way board members.
"Communithon ran really smoothly in the way of production," said Kennedy- Allin.
