The body of the 12-year-old boy who was reported missing while swimming at the Boundary Dam beach site yesterday afternoon has been found.
The RCMP have announced that the boy, who was from Estevan, was found deceased shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Monday. He was located approximately 100 feet off shore at Boundary Dam, near where he was last seen.
At around 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a call of a possible drowning at the Boundary Dam beach site. A 12-year-old male was swimming with another individual when the youth was observed going under the water.
An extensive search was conducted. The searches included multiple dives completed by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team that went into late last night. Estevan Traffic Services, Carlyle Traffic Services and Carlyle RCMP have also provided assistance.
The RCMP will hold a press conference at 2:15 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
