Environment Canada has lifted the latest severe thunderstorm watch issued for the Estevan area.
The advisory was issued at 12:46 p.m. and lifted at 5:26 p.m. Ironically, it was lifted when a strong thunderstorm was bringing strong winds and heavy rains to Estevan.
In a post on its Facebook page, the City of Estevan said that with the amount of rainfall over the last few hours, they request residents to keep traffic to a minimum on Fourth and Fifth Street.
This will allow drainage systems to catch up and minimize flooding in the areas.
Environment Canada issued the previous watch at 12:41 a.m. Thursday morning. The advisory was lifted at 8:25 a.m.
A thunderstorm did roll through the area Thursday morning, and brought some rain, but wasn't significant enough to require a severe thunderstorm warning.
