War Mother shows husband's medals

Annie Wilkinson, chosen as this year's War Mother for the Remembrance Day services, shows the two war medals awarded to her husband Percy, who passed away in 1979. Percy fought in some of the famous battles of World War One, including Vimy Ridge, the Somme, Ypres and Passchendaele. Her brother, Freddy Dreger, was killed in the Second World War, serving as a Warrant Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force; his plane was shot down in June of 1944 off the coast of Iceland.Review photo 5640 —Greg Nikkel
