WCS students win nine medals at Skills Canada competition

Several students from the Weyburn Comprehensive School took part in the 21 st annual Skills Canada Saskatchewan competition in Saskatoon on Friday, with nine students bringing home medals.

Several students from the Weyburn Comprehensive School took part in the 21st annual Skills Canada Saskatchewan competition in Saskatoon on Friday, with nine students bringing home medals.

“Representing WCS at Skills Canada Sask is a tremendous honour and an amazing experience,” said WCS teacher Margot Arnold.

In Beauty Therapy, Hailey Neiszner and model Meagan Dutchak won a silver medal. Also competing in this category were Hannah Hulbert and model Jada Boren.

In the Electrical Installations category, Alex Hala won a bronze medal.

Isaac Loberg competed in the Architectural Technology and Design category, Hunter Denten was in the Electronics category, and Jada Dunkley competed in the Fashion Technology category.

In Hairstyling Braiding, Reece Pittman won the gold medal, and Callie Efford won the bronze medal. Efford also won the bronze medal in the Hairstyling Bridal category.

In the IT Network Systems for Admin category, Curtis Kretschmer won the silver medal, while in the IT Software Applications category, Olivia Michel won a silver medal, and Brett Bowler won the bronze medal.

In the Job Skills demonstration, Kellisa McLean was a competitor, and she also took part in the Public Speaking competition.

In the Pastry and Confectionary category, Wanru Anderson won the bronze medal.

Tyler Douglas competed in the Precision Machining category, and in the Video Production category, Ben Anderson and Lucas Knight were competitors, along with Kieran Ricard and Jason Kalman.
