The Carlyle RCMP detachment dealt with several calls between Thursday, Nov. 23 and Thursday, Nov. 30.
911/Alarms
One prank call to 911 was made from the phone at the Carlyle Sports Arena.
One misdialled call to 911 was made in Redvers.
Alcohol-related offences
Members dealt with an intoxicated individual in the Redvers area. No charges were laid.
RCMP have received reports of individuals smuggling beer into Carlyle PureChem Cougars Hockey Games. Carlyle RCMP Staff Sgt. Darren Simons says: “Both members of the RCMP who are regularly on patrol at the games as well as volunteers at the rink are aware of this and will be looking out for individuals attempting to take beer into hockey games.'
“I would like to remind members of the public that it is an offence under the Liquor Act to have liquor in a public place or to transport liquor under the regulations of the Liquor Act.”
Animal calls
An animal abuse file in the Forget area is currently under investigation by Carlyle RCMP.
RCMP are investigating an incident which occurred in Redvers involving two dogs.
Assistance
Carlyle RCMP assisted the Manitoba Prosecutions Service by serving a subpoena.
Members assisted the Amarillo Police Service by notifying person(s) in the detachment area of a loved one's passing in Texas.
Police provided assistance with regards to a youth who had not returned to the Paul Dojack Youth Centre in Regina.
Conditions
An individual who failed to comply with their release conditions was given a warning by police.
RCMP members also conducted several curfew checks within the detachment area.
Firearms
Firearms were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Carlyle.
Harassment
A harassment complaint was deemed to be unfounded by RCMP.
Upon investigation, RCMP found that an incident of harassing communications at Kenosee Lake was simply a joke gone wrong.
Mental Health Act
RCMP dealt with one incident under the Mental Health Act this week.
Mischief
RCMP investigated a mischief complaint at a Carlyle area residence and found that it was a disagreement. No charges were laid.
Traffic offences/Collisions
A two-vehicle collision which resulted in minor injuries occurred at the intersection of Hwy 9 and the Town of Arcola.
A motorist collided with a deer.
Two motorists received fines of $280 each for driving while operating a cell phone. These incidents occurred within 30 minutes on Main Street, Carlyle. “It's a very serious, ongoing problem,” says Staff Sgt. Simons.
RCMP received a report of a power pole damaged by a vehicle in Wawota.
Police made patrols after receiving two reports of possibly impaired drivers - one in the Antler area and on in the Carlyle area.
Two individuals were found to be driving without a valid driver's licences.
A motorist was fined $580 for a motor vehicle insurance violation.
Two drivers received fines of $230 each for interesction-related offences.
Members dealt with several speeding drivers this week, with fines reaching $184.
RCMP also dealt with the following motor vehicle offences this week: failure to produce a driver's licence and/or registration, driving a vehicle with no licence plate, driving a vehicle with an obstructed licence plate, failing to wear a seatbelt, transporting insecure cargo, operating a motor vehicle with insufficient headlamps and/or tail lights and driving a motor vehicle with a damaged windshield.
Uttering threats
RCMP issued a warning regarding an indidence of uttering threats which took place in Wawota.
In Carlyle, a threat was reported to police for information purposes.
Well-being check
Carlyle RCMP conducted one well-being check in the Kisbey area.
