Brian Glass removed one of the old ceiling tiles from the roof of the SSR Lounge, downstairs in the Weyburn Legion Hall on Thursday, before he applied paint to the metal bars.
Once that paint dried, he put up new white ceiling tiles, and new light fixtures were also installed.
Many of the old tiles had people’s names on them, which was part of a fundraiser effort many years ago for the Legion.
Anyone who has tiles with their names on it, or that of a friend or relative, can come to the Legion Hall to claim them, and the Legion is also taking donations towards the renovations ongoing for the Legion’s downstairs area.
In recent upgrades and renovations at the Legion, the flooring and lighting has been replaced in the Vimy Room, and the most recent major project was the replacement of the HVAC cooling and heating system for the Legion Hall.
