Weyburn Police deal with a wide variety of infractions

During the week of April 13 to 19, the Weyburn Police received 62 calls for service. On the evening of April 19, police responded to a disturbance at a residence. Officers were able to mediate the situation with no further problems.

On the evening of April 19, police responded to a disturbance at a residence. Officers were able to mediate the situation with no further problems. 

Also on April 19, the Weyburn Police Service received a complaint regarding a stolen iPad from the Weyburn Comprehensive School. The matter is still under investigation.

On April 18,Weyburn Police received a complaint from a female who stated she was receiving messages from a male who was on conditions not to contact her. After further investigation, the male was charged with breaching conditions of his release.

The Weyburn Police Service received a complaint on April 16 of a gas drive off from the Real Canadian Wholesale Club Gas Bar. A silver minivan pumped $53.00 worth of fuel into their vehicle and left without paying. The theft is under investigation. 

On April 14, Police dealt with an 84 year-old male who drove onto the grass and the sidewalk in front of the Weyburn Court House. Several lights along the sidewalk were damaged in the incident. Court was in session at the time and the male thought he was at the Hospital. A driver review will be sent to SGI and a charge of driving without due care and attention is pending.

In the early morning hours of April 15, Weyburn Police conducted a vehicle stop on Campbell Crescent. The accused was subsequently arrested and charged for operating a motor vehicle while impaired.

On April 13, officers responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle collision. As a result, the young female bicyclist was treated for minor injuries and the male driver of the vehicle was charged with driving with undue care and attention.

On April 13, police also responded to a disturbance at a residence on Park Ave. The parties involved were arguing over relationship issues. Police spoke to the parties and managed to calm the disagreement. Both agreed to keep the peace.
