Brian Hopfe, Dave Katschke and Justin Katschke stand in silent tribute, as Bev Katschke, centre, places flowers at the Memorial Park Cenotaph on Thursday, while paying tribute to Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, a reservist soldier shot and killed in Ottawa on Wednesday. Cpl. Cirillo was standing guard at the National War Memorial when he was shot, a short distance from Parliament Hill. The gunman entered through the main doors of Parliament, and was confronted and killed by House of Commons sergeant-at-arms Kevin Vickers. This incident was the second fatal attack on a Canadian soldier last week. Dave Katschke served as a reservist, and planned the impromptu ceremony to honour the fallen soldier.
