(Submitted) - We launched our Back to School Supply Drive in conjunction with Superior Office Products in the middle of August and in just a few short weeks we were able to help send 36 students to school with their supplies, raising an AMAZING $1,626.00 in our first year.

We appreciate everyone who made their donation either at Superior while purchasing their own supplies or who just popped by to help us out.

On September 6, we teamed up with the Weyburn Independent Riders for their 26th Annual Toy Run. $1085.00 was raised, along with a van full of toys. This will help to ensure that no child in the Weyburn region will go without a toy this Christmas.

Our next venture is the Annual Canada Post Food Drive to be held this weekend (Saturday, September 20). Canada Post workers will be out Saturday collecting food for our Food Bank. Please leave your food in a marked bag on your door step by 9 a.m.

While we always appreciate all donations, please double check the dates for expired food. It is just something we cannot give out in our hampers. We can always use pasta, Kraft Dinner, canned meat, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, Hamburger Helper, Stove Top Stuffing etc.

The Weyburn Salvation Army would like to thank Weyburn and area residents for their support in our latest programs.

For any other information or to make a donation, please stop by our office at 126 Fourth Street in Weyburn or call 306-842-2280.
