The Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan Weyburn Chapter Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce and congratulate the 2021 Scholarship recipients, Jessica Dixon and Megan Schmidt. Each one will receive a $1,000 scholarship, as both pursue their degrees through the University of Regina.

Jessica Dixon

Jessica graduated from the Weyburn Comprehensive in June, 2020. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education (Pre-K to 5) at the University of Regina.

Jessica is taking her first year classes online from the comforts of her home in Weyburn.  Inspired by her own Kindergarten teacher, Jennelle Wimmer, Jessica's goal is to become a Kindergarten teacher to make the transition into school easy for children and to be the reason they love going to school every day.

Megan Schmidt

Megan grew up in Weyburn and graduated from the Weyburn Comprehensive. In June, 2020, Megan was accepted into the Faculty of Education, Elementary Education (Pre K to 5) program.

Choosing a career as a teacher has been an easy decision for Megan as she has been passionate about teaching from a young age. For Megan, teaching provides opportunities to develop relationships, share experiences and connect with other people. Upon completion of her education degree, Megan would like to return to Weyburn to begin her teaching career.
