Weyburn's Quota Club celebrates 60th anniversary

The members of Quota Club International of Weyburn gather as they celebrate the 60th anniversary of the service club in Weyburn, at a special banquet at the Legion Hall on Oct. 7. In the back row from left are June Fletcher, Val Wing, Peggy Eichel, Cheryl Roundy, Heather Sidloski, Mayvis Goranson and Judy Buzowetsky. In the middle row are Theresa Girardin, Shelly Babiarz, Sandi Schweitzer, Jean Fahlman, Suzette Relucio and Isabelle Butters. In front are Valarie Hall (District 11 Governor), Cindy Ann Boehm, Lorraine Wilkinson (club president), Carmen Vilness, Norma Buydens, and Bev Jaeger, Canada Area Director. Quota Club puts an emphasis on helping those who are less fortunate, both in the local community and internationally; locally, they have supported such causes as Envision, regional college scholarships, sound systems for classrooms and nursing homes, the toy lending library at the Public Library, the Family Place, Therapeutic Animal Park, Music Festival awards, along with donations to the Care-A-Van Society and the Triple C Centre. The club also sponsors the annual Women of the Year awards.
