The Carlyle detachment received 58 calls last week, a sizeable proportion of which were directly related to the weather conditions at the end of April, so let's begin with that event.

Badminton District Playoffs were held last week. Congratulations to Blaize Meyer, Devan Fafard, and Jailei Meyer who took part in Senior District Badminton in Carnduff on May 3, 2011. Jailei took home the Bronze in Girls' Singles - a job well done.

George Tosczak took a big dip into the $100 Million Prize Pool this week. The Weyburn resident saw a television advertisement for the new $100 Million Jumbo lottery ticket and decided to give it a try. He ended up winning $1 million.

On May 3, Saskatchewan Teachers' Federations announced that all STF members would be withdrawing full professional and voluntary services on Thursday, May 5, in order to take part in a one-day study day and rally.

Town of Carlyle Council Meeting

The current water situation was the root of many discussions at the meeting. Trucks removing sewage are located on Carlyle Avenue in an attempt to address the strains placed on the sewer system created by excess run-off.
